EXPLORING ENGLAND

England / 24 September 2014

Charming England is just like a fairytale. Once you enter this enchanting world, you are welcomed with beautiful greenery, serene castle and mountainside views, delectable sweets from quaint villages, and stories that originated thousands of years ago. Full of beauty, history and adventure, England is truly captivating.

The Lavish Voyage to London

The Lavish Voyage to London

On a day trip from London, I explored England's historic towns, castles and countryside. First stop? Britain's ultimate castle, Warwick castle!

Warwick Castle
Warwick Castle (pronounced WORR-ik) is a medieval castle in Warwick, the county town of Warwickshire, England. It was built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and sits on a cliff overlooking a bend in the River Avon. Visiting Warwick Castle was enchanting. There are lavish rooms, exquisite serene castle and mountain views, romantic fountains, princess towers and mystic staircases. I captured the opulence of the lavish State Rooms, the charming tower views of the castle, English countryside and adorable pink houses, and the beautiful Peacock Garden.

The next stop on the tour of England was the utterly charming home of William Shakespeare.

Stratford-upon-Avon
Stratford-upon-Avon is the famous home of the world's greatest writer, William Shakespeare. It is a thriving and busy town of just 20,000 inhabitants whose day-to-day business is conducted among the rich architecture. I visited Shakespeare's childhood home, antique stores and Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop, and had a pasty from the award winning Pasty Presto.

The last stop on the tour of England was Christ Church, Oxford.

Christ Church, Oxford
Visiting the university town of Oxford, I toured the grand Christ Church college where I learnt about the college's famous students, including Albert Einstein and Lewis Carrol, who wrote the enchanting tale of Alice in Wonderland, and saw many locations from the Harry Potter films including the Hogwarts dining hall.

I have created a little video highlighting my favourite memories from The Lavish Voyage to London.

It is now time to say goodbye England, until next time.
