The Land of Lavish is spreading the love this Valentine's Day with an enchanting treasure. In today's adventure, I am delighted to be sharing a simple do-it-yourself embellished heart gift box. Adorned with an array of dazzling crystals and beautiful pearls, it makes an impossibly romantic gift for your sweetheart.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so what better way to celebrate the occasion than by making a one-of-a-kind present for your truelove, someone special or best friend. It's time to get crafty for the love-filled holiday with this DIY Darling project. Because a little pink and sparkle is essential for V-Day!

You will need:
  • Heart-shaped Cardboard Box
  • Acrylic Paint: I used both white (as a base coat) and pink coloured paint.
  • Pearls: I used pink (12mm) and white (10mm) glass pearls.
  • Gems & Stones: I used (6mm) hexagon crystal facets.
  • Clear Acrylic Sealer: I used Mod Podge Glues, Sealers and Finish.
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Paint Brush
  • Tweezers
  • Red Ribbon

What to do:
  1. Prepare to paint: As a base coat, use your paintbrush to coat your cardboard box with a layer of white paint. Allow 1-hour drying time between coats. Repeat with thin layers until the cardboard is not transparent.
  2. Paint it pink: Now that the cardboard is not see-through, apply a layer of pink paint to your heart box. Repeat with another coat and allow to dry.
  3. Seal it: Apply Mod Podge evenly over your entire box. Dry for approximately 20 minutes. This sealer will provide good adhesion for the embellishments.
  4. Design time: Design your embellished gift box. I lined the edges of the heart box lid with pink and white pearls and scattered crystals on its surface for a polka-dot effect.
  5. Glue the gems: When you are happy with the layout, use a hot glue gun to secure the pearl and crystal gems to your gift box. I used tweezers to hold the gems for greater ease and support.
  6. A loving gift: Fill your "Sweetheart" gift box with chocolates and lovingly tie it with a classic red ribbon.
Now, you can give your one and only a truly unique gift box to treasure for years to come. Additionally, "Sweetheart" can be used to store your favourite jewels and trinkets year-round.

I have also created a little step-by-step video tutorial for this Valentine's Day gift box suggestion.

...all you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt. -Charles M. Shultz.
