SPARKLING NEW YEAR

28 December 2013

It's the most magical night of the year. A celebration filled with joy, confetti, cake, resolutions and fireworks. Ring in the New Year with glitz and glamour with oh-so bright, pink frosted cupcakes. Decorated with glittery disco-like balls and golden NYE greetings,  'A Sparkling New Year' cupcakes are both festive and sparkly.

A New Year is an exciting time for new beginnings, new ideas and new adventures. The Land of Lavish is welcoming 2014 with festive cupcakes inspired by extravagant New Year's Eve fireworks displays. Let's say cheers to a New Year with a simple DIY cupcake topper tutorial to make your night sparkle.

You will need:
  • Polystyrene Foam Balls: I used a variation of sizes
  • Lollipop Candy Sticks (alternatively, you can use bamboo skewers)
  • Glitter
  • Sequins
  • Silver Cachous Pearls
  • Glue: I used Mod Podge Glues, Sealers and Finish
  • Paint Brush
  • Gold Paper in A4 Size
  • Free Printable 'A Sparkling New Year' Cupcake Toppers
  • Scissors
  • Sticky Tape
  • Frosted Cupcakes

GLITTER DISCO BALLS
To make these festive cupcake toppers, place lollipop sticks into polystyrene foam balls. With a paint brush, coat the balls with a layer of glue and then roll them in glitter and/or add sequins. Allow to dry for 15-20 minutes and then arrange the disco-balls on cupcakes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TOPPERS
To make these celebratory cupcake toppers, simply print and cut out the Free Printable design, tape to lollipop sticks or bamboo skewers, and glue the double-sided design together. Insert into cupcakes and decorate with edible silver cachous pearls.

Now you can celebrate New Year's Eve with all-over holiday sparkle!

These cupcakes would look great on a fun dessert table decorated with tinsel, confetti and party-poppers.

I also made these type of craft for any occasion by using polystyrene because it is easy to cut into any shape. And I shared with an online store where I always bought polystyrene at cheaper rate so you may buy this product for make other craft: http://ecclestons.com/expanded-polystyrene-bead.htm
